Star wheel style door lock for Porch-Lift vertical platform lifts, designed to actuate the landing door vane using a daisy-wheel cam mechanism. Replaces 57500.
This specialized interlock assembly is used on Porch-Lift vertical platform lifts where a mechanical cam system controls landing gate unlocking. Often referred to as a star wheel or daisy wheel lock, the mechanism uses a rotating cam profile that engages the lift’s vane as the platform reaches the landing. This interaction allows the gate to unlock only when the platform is properly positioned, maintaining the safety circuit required for lift operation.
The assembly is commonly found on Porch-Lift accessibility lifts originally manufactured by American Stair-Glide and later produced under the ThyssenKrupp Access brand. Its integrated design combines the cam actuator, electrical switching components, and mounting structure into a single compact unit that installs at the landing gate location. This configuration ensures reliable gate locking while coordinating electrical signaling to the lift control system.
Because of its distinctive star-shaped cam design, this interlock is easily recognizable compared to more conventional linear or roller-style gate locks. It serves as a direct replacement for legacy Porch-Lift installations that utilize the daisy wheel cam system.
